Ban all tourists

It isn't easy to ban tourists and tour guides, but your community has done it. Everyone believes that the cultural integrity of the community will be stronger because of it.

Already, however, you've cleared another hectare (two and a half acres) for a coffee plantation. You need the money to pay for a new roof and school supplies for your children. Agriculture is the Quichua way of life now, and you hope that by banning tourists you will be able to live quietly here in Pangayacu for many decades to come.

The rainforest is disappearing due to agricultural expansion. Only 15% of all community land is still forested.

There has been little change in income. Currently each household earns about $600 a year.

This is the end of the game.

Would you like to go back and try running the ecotourism project?
