Chapter Five: Van Gogh

"Your painting is clearly not a Van Gogh," I told Miss Featherduster. "Look closely. Van Gogh painted quickly. He used lots of thick paint. Sometimes he didn't even mix the colors. He didn't smooth out his brushstrokes because he liked the way they revealed the colors and his feelings about the scene."

"Now your mystery artist, on the other hand, used a much finer brush. It's not as smooth as some painters' brushwork, but I don't see Van Gogh's famous brushstrokes here. Let's look at the list again."
