Trish waggled her head sympathetically. "I can see why you'd say that," she told me. "The dappled colors give you a good impression of what the sunlight must have looked like that day. Van Gogh was inspired by artists--known as Impressionists--who tried capture colors and light just as they saw them.
"But Van Gogh was trying something a little different. What do you think it was?"
