Trish said. "These brushtrokes were made by Paul Cezanne. He lived
in the same period as our artist and was also influenced by the Impressionists.
Like our artist, Cezanne made loose brushstrokes that are easy to see, like
in this painting here.

"But his brushstrokes were really quite different," Trish said. " In his search for a harmony of form and color, Cezanne created rhythmic patterns of blocky strokes. His brushstrokes have none of our artist's wild speed and thickness."
